The EMD LaGrange Plant is located approximately 2 miles South of LaGrange, IL at the intersection of 55th Street and East Avenue. EMD is 20 miles South of O'Hare Airport, 5 miles West of Midway Airport, and 13 miles Southwest of Downtown Chicago.

The EMD Customer Training Center is located in the Northwest corner of the Engine Plant. There is a tower identifying Area #3 at the parking lot and school entrance. Do not report to security, but come directly to the Training Center.

Taxi and Limousine Service is available at the airports. Advance limousine reservations insure satisfactory service. A local limousine service that we have found to be dependable: My Chauffeur Limousine Service: 630-920-8888.

Safety Equipment: Included in your class may be a plant tour. It is mandatory that any person entering the shop must wear low-heeled, sturdy soled shoes. Canvas-type, soft-soled, or open toe shoes are not acceptable in the shop areas. Safety glasses and ear protection will be provided by EMD. Students are not allowed unescorted beyond the Training Center area.

Cameras: All cameras are prohibited on EMD property unless authorized and accompanied by a permit. This is to include all cellular phones & PDA's with photo capabilities. Cameras are permitted in the Training Center.

Class Hours: 8:15 A.M. to 3:45 P.M. Daily (most classes end by Noon on Friday). Lunch will be provided Monday thru Thursday (also on Friday if a full day class)

Travel and Housing Information: It is the current policy of the EMD Customer Training Center to refrain from making travel arrangements or hotel/motel reservations for students. These reservations should be made by your employer. You will need transportation to EMD from your hotel. If you choose not to have a rental car, please call early for a taxicab as it can take up to an hour during busy morning hours. Listed below are hotels/motels closest to EMD.
