Mentoring
   Contents: Opportunities : Mentoring : Women's Council     



EMD is committed to assuring employees are given opportunities to develop their careers. To facilitate achieving this goal, a formal mentoring program is available to employees. This program pairs a more experienced employee (mentor) with a less experienced employee (mentee). Because this is a formal process, both mentor and mentee attend an orientation session to learn what makes a successful mentoring relationship. This helps develop clear goals and an understanding of each participant’s role. There is also a formal evaluation by both parties at the end of the program.

Mentoring provides benefits to the company by developing leadership, encouraging teamwork and sharing of knowledge. The mentee benefits by receiving professional development, career development assistance and the opportunity to network, receive challenging assignments and broaden their knowledge of the Company's philosophies and policies.
