In many instances, customers may request specific combinations of components for a particular project or merely for ease in supplying material for routine overhauls. Kits can be assembled in any combination of material that provides value to the customer.

EMD offers kits that are both generic in nature, such as a gasket kit to overhaul a 710 engine, or as specific as a customized kit created for one individual customer overhauling a particular class of locomotive, marine or power generation system. Each kit is assigned a unique part number for ease of identification. This single part number identification allows the customer the convenience of ordering several hundred components by merely placing a single part number order.
