EMD provides rebuilt locomotive, marine or power generation
components for sale. Currently, engines and engine components, electrical
rotating equipment and electrical control equipment encompass the
types of rebuilt equipment that EMD offers for sale.
EMD currently offers two different types of rebuild
transactions:
- UTEX transactions provide the customer with a rebuilt
component out of stock and requires a rebuildable “core”
return within 60 days of order. The UTEX program provides the
quickest turnaround of all the Rebuild services offered.
- On occasion, EMD will offer rebuilt components for Outright
Sale to customers. An outright sale is provided at a premium
over our regular UTEX prices, however, there is still a savings
over purchasing new.
